The wood for the 12×12 plaque is 1961 Yellowstone Pine which was used in the rebuild work of Old Faithful Inn after the Hebgen Lake earthquake in 1959.

The tongue and groove pine paneling was subsequently removed during the Inn’s major renovation during 2004 and 2010.  Rich Holstein of Rich’s Rustic Frame Art of Laurel, MT, was involved in the renovation project.  The plaque comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by him.  Before the plaque could be made, the wood had to be cleaned and restored for engraving.  Much of the wood still retained its green paint.  However, the tongue and groove part of the paneling used in the framing was left in its original state still retaining some of the paint.

These plaques are Limited Edition Plaques as there is a finite amount of the paneling available.  The plaque is a wonderful way to  remember your times in the Park, and they make great gifts.  The back of the plaque comes engraved with the poem Yellowstone by Millette, plus you can add a personal name.  If you would like to add your own inscription instead of the poem, we are happy to do that for you.  All the personalized engraving is included in the price of the plaque.   CLICK ON PHOTOS TO ENLARGE
